Technical audits, on-page optimisation, and structured data for existing sites. No keyword-stuffing, no black-hat tactics — just the fundamentals, done properly.

Most small business websites have significant SEO issues that nobody has ever looked at. Not because the business owners don't care — but because SEO is opaque, full of jargon, and surrounded by people selling things that don't work.

The fundamentals aren't mysterious. A technically sound site, correctly structured pages, and the right signals for Google to understand what you do — that's most of the work for most small businesses.

— FAQ

Common questions.

It depends on the starting point and the competitiveness of your keywords. Technical fixes often show results within weeks — Google re-crawls fast once the issues are resolved. On-page and content changes typically take two to four months to meaningfully move rankings. SEO is a long game, but the results compound over time in a way paid advertising doesn't.

Technical SEO is about making your site easy for Google to crawl, index, and understand — things like page speed, structured data, canonical tags, and sitemap hygiene. On-page SEO is about ensuring each page is optimised for the right keywords, with the right content structure, headings, and metadata. Both matter. Most sites have gaps in both.

Not necessarily. A one-off technical audit and on-page fix can have a lasting impact — especially if your site has never had proper SEO attention. Ongoing work makes sense if you're regularly publishing content, operating in a competitive space, or want to track and build on results over time.

I can advise on content strategy and structure — what pages to create, what keywords to target, and how to structure content for both users and search engines. Copywriting itself is outside my core scope, but I work with trusted copywriters if that's needed.

Yes. Existing rankings are worth protecting and building on. An audit will identify quick wins — pages that are close to ranking for valuable terms, technical issues that are suppressing performance, or content gaps a competitor is filling.

Yes. For businesses targeting a specific location — like a Bath-based service provider — local SEO is often the highest-impact work you can do. That includes Google Business Profile optimisation, local structured data (LocalBusiness schema), and ensuring the right location signals are in place across the site.

I don't do paid link schemes or low-quality outreach. Where link building is relevant, I'll advise on legitimate approaches — digital PR, relevant directories, and content that earns links naturally. For most small business sites, there's usually significant on-page and technical work to do before link building becomes the priority.
